Volunteer internship with Craft ACT: Craft and Design Centre

An internship with Craft ACT exposes the intern to a dynamic and high achievement grass roots exhibiting organisation. They will quickly became part of the ongoing running of the organisation, covering such aspects as artist liaison; membership enquiries; exhibition installation; touring exhibition management including packing, cataloguing, condition reporting and documentation; general enquiries; office management and in particular have the opportunity to manage offsite exhibition venues. This will involve artist contact; follow on contact, delivery of contracts, and installation of works, price lists, insurance, and return of work.

The following points outline the scope of an internship with Craft ACT:

Craft ACT interns have played a vital role in the ongoing and day to day business with Craft ACT. Often the variety of work is a surprise to most interns and offers real development in terms of hands on experience. Megan Bottari, Craft ACT intern during 2005 summed it up:

"This [internship] has proven to be a most fulfilling year of participation in the exhibition (and associated activities) program at Craft ACT. While an internship carries with it connotations of being the general office 'gofer', the experience did deliver innumerable valuable training opportunities, and a very real insight into the workings of the Craft and Arts sector. Indeed, the year turned into a particularly broad and instructive exercise in multi-tasking that has laid down a concrete foundation for what I anticipate to be an active and progressive involvement in the curatorial arena."

Come and join this small and dynamic team and make things happen.
