Alice Whish is a contemporary jeweller who combines ceramic and precious metals to explore colour and the plasticity of form. While she now lives and works in Sydney Australia she grew up in the country where she developed a passion for the natural environment and knowledge of plants. Alice carefully selects materials, and techniques and matches these to her detailed observations of the environmental, revealing a layer of story. Slowly each work is an act of environmental awareness assisting the viewer to observe, connect and identify with the environment. Alice holds a BA in Visual Art and an MA in Art, her works are held in significant public collections, at state and national galleries in Australia.
